Halls High School Marching Band

Halls High School Band

The Marching Band has about 20 performances scheduled each year. Students in the Band rehearse during the school day for 90 minutes and twice a week after school for two hours. This ensemble provides students with the opportunity to continue study music and grow as performers. This course focuses on the development of individual and group performance skills. Individual practice, after-school practice and group rehearsal sessions are required.

Indoor Drumline 2010 accomplishments:

Carolina Indoor Performance Association (CIPA) Circuit

· 1st Place (score 72.95) – Dobyns Bennett Indoor Qualifier

· 1st Place (score 82.05) – Gibbs Indoor Showcase

· 1st Place (score 85.95) – Virginia High Indoor Showcase

· 1st Place (score 87.35) – Carolina Indoor Performance Association Championships

The Halls Indoor Percussion Ensemble went undefeated for the season within the CIPA circuit placing 1st place in every competition. This is the also the first time the ensemble has won the Championships placing both 2nd & 3rd in years past.

WGI -Winterguard Invitational, Spartanburg Regional

· 4th Place (score 85.90) - Prelims

· 2nd Place (score 87.575) – Finals

At the time of this competition the Halls Indoor Percussion score of 87.575 was the 4th highest score in the nation.

Indoor Winter Guard accomplishments:

· 3rd Place (score 56.0) - Dobyns Bennett Indoor Qualifier

· 3rd Place (score 74.20) – Gibbs Indoor Showcase

· 2nd Place (score 51.40) – Karns Showcase

This is the first time the Halls Indoor Winterguard has placed 1st in Championships
